Wow explosives! His works certainly have visual impact. In the beginning he correlates his art making to sex, a personal experience for the most part, but then moves on to the imperfections and refection’s of the world around us, a societal experience. He enjoys the destructive and uncontrollable nature of his work and the visceral responses of his audience.

It is great that he draws so much from his past. It seems like he almost maintains a comfort level there, but then you see him challenge himself to break free with his “self-test” – trial – experimenation with the hoops. I like his point about taking time in his process, and how that helps him to listen to his inner voice. I think one of my favorite pieces is the one where he uses materials that have memory. I will definetly be including this in my book. He used endpapers, which is a material that was used in his mothers hair salon.

Barry McGee mentioned that reading what someone has written on a train, at different periods of time, is like learning about someone you don’t know. Isn’t it like that on the internet? I really like the collage he did of found art. I wonder what he meant by “skinning the wall.”
